What is a “goal”?
- the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end.
- the score made by this act.
Goal setting is important for you to have a perfect flow in your plans and also to motivate you to set your expectations into a reality. Goals are important to persuade yourself to do work, go to classes and prepare for exams. This process of goal setting helps you choose your path of life without so easily getting astray.
However, you must first know your abilities to achieve your goals and polish it yourself. You can do it by managing your goal from the start.
Activity 2: Managing Your Goal
My goals:
- Dean’s List for every semester (5 semesters in total) to achieve the Vice-Chancellor Award
- Join an Extracurricular Group or Organization
- Plan Homework/Study Times for Every Course
- Graduate on-time without extensions
Obstacles:
- Lack of focus
- Focusing on the end result
- The tendency to procrastinate a lot
- Lack of consistency
Resources available to me:
- Helpful friends
- Supportive family
- Skills ( time management, networking, communication)
- Technology and Techniques
Reviews and Revision of Goal:
I must focus on my studies and to never skip classes to ensure that I can maintain a good GPA throughout all semesters to achieve the Vice-Chancellor Award. I have to work on my ability to focus better and get rid of my tendency to procrastinate and to always be consistent. I have a lot of resources available to me to assure I set my goals straight.
Polished Goal:
I will focus on my studies and get Dean’s List for every semester, work on my focus better and to always be consistent. I will use all of the resources available to me to assure that I will achieve my goals.
